Everything in our world nowadays is on-demand and centered around short attention spans. As I type this, my web browser has multiple tabs opened at once, so I can jump from GAW, to work, to email, to a show I'm streaming, and to eTrade. Our phones beep and we're instantly distracted. I think we're all falling prey to these lifestyles/technologies that are kind of forcing us all to be a little ADD. I'm in my late 40s and noticing exactly what you are.
Came to say the same. Life has become a short-form video. The only thing people can consistently pay attention to for hours is their cell phone. I believe this is by design.
