Make no mistake Elon is doing what he thinks is good for Elon.... The same is true for Trump. My big take on this is that for most of us our interest coincides at the moment make no mistake these two are giants and that the moment anyone's interest does not coincide they will go with what they see as their needs.

You are dead wrong about Trump, he would have quit long ago if this was all about him. I agree that he has a huge ego but that's a GOOD thing because he refuses to lose. He is a patriot of the highest order, IMO.
