I think what they're getting at is there isn't a sure fire way to know someone is illegal without having to racial profile. Which is true. Personally I don't think there's anything wrong with racial profiling, and I assume police do it all the time whether they admit to it or not. It's hard to completely disregard a really telling characteristic, like someone's race, especially when it comes to identifying people who are here illegally.
