I would look past the publicly promoted narrative, that some disgruntled individual whacked the UHC CEO.
Thompson was due to testify in court and there were likely some big people that didn't want to hear what he would be saying. This was a professional hit with a silencer and specialty ammo not some average Joe.
A pro hit wouldn't leave evidence everywhere, unless he doesn't exist in any database - DNA, fingerprint, biometric, etc. - which is very difficult to do. The news is even going so far as to claim he used a B&T VP9 (very rare) which would require a manual re-rack after every shot. Unless it was a sanitized version from a TLA, it's probably traceable. And not sure how they would be able to determine this within 48 hours. I'm guessing an undergassed gun without a block in it using subsonic ammo. Pro hitters don't inscribe messages on shell casings unless paid to do so.
Pros also don't get caught. Has he been caught yet?
Pros don't get caught but neither does a high IQ individual with a well thought out plan.
I hope he gets away with it. Maybe he'll inspire change in our healthcare system? HMOs and insurance companies are what made healthcare unaffordable. I had a friend who went to urgent care with no insurance. They initially gave him a bill for $1600. As soon as they realized he was uninsured they printed a new bill for him that was $600. Hospitals and clinics milk the insurance companies and we all pay higher costs as a result.
