Can someone pease explain to me what’s going on in Syria. Not sure if Assad is good or bad. Is this another color revolution from the good old USA?

So my thought is the green new deal crew. Clinton , Obama, Biden. Are going all in on an oil pipeline in Syria to fill their pockets with gold. Am I wrong?
