Jesus claiming to be "the way, the truth, and the life" and stating that no one can deliver anyone out of his hand implies he is asserting divine authority and power, equivalent to claiming he is God.
The above parallels Old Testament where God asserts sovereignty. In Deuteronomy 32:39, God declares, "See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god beside me; I kill and I make alive; I wound and I heal; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand." Similarly, in Isaiah 43:13, God states, "Indeed before the day was, I am He; And there is no one who can deliver out of My hand; I work, and who will reverse it?"
So, God says noone can deliver out of his hand in yet Jesus claims the same. So either God can not deliver out of Jesus's hand, Jesus is lying, or he is claiming to be God.
This is why I have issue with the image. "Jesus never said make me your lord and savior" if Jesus claims to be God, and claims that his body and blood will be used for the forgiveness of sin, makes him our lord, and his act makes him our savior.
Christ never claimed to be God. Hisnperfect redeemingbwork and fulfilling if the law a long with his volunteering to be sacrificed is why He is the Way. The word Way in the greek means path or journey. Doesn't make him God at all. But it does make him God's solution and he CHOSE to always do the Fathers will. he clearly could have said No according to John 10: 17 -18. Said he had the power (exousia) =[authority] To lay it down or take it again.
Can God the father take the sheep from Jesus who claimed no one can take from his hand? Also, the jews wanted to kill Jesus for claiming to be God for that very statement.
See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.
O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker. For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.
Yea, before the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it?
Hand is a metaphor because he is not a physical being. Hand means his power. So sheep of his hand. is those under his care and protection. None but God almighty can deliver out of his hand. The sheep hear his voice
Looking at the interlinear "are" is plural and translates more literally to "we are"
John 10 (King James) 27-33My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me
and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand I and my Father are one. Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
Jesus does not claim himself within the all in
"My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all;" because he does what the father does and he is one with the father. No-one can snatch them out of jesus' hand and and no one can snatch them out of his fathers hand because they are one. Jesus claims to be one with the Father in ability and power.
Jesus claims to Be God, he claims to have power that no creature can claim. the Jews understood this and wanted to stone him for claiming to be God. None can deliver out of Gods hand, God is the one who gives life. God says I act and who can reverse it?
Yet Jesus says he can raise the dead which death is an act of God
