Holy Father, yesterday was quite more serene than I thought it would be. Whatever disturbed my digestive track seems to find its way away. I spent the day taking naps, watching some videos and eventually going to bed much sooner than usual, and here I am, almost fresh after sleeping around the clock. There’s plenty I feel I can do today and I praise You for the overwhelming feeling of achievement that I crave. I pray everyone here had a warm and cosy Christmas with their beloved.

Stephen (and by extension 'reward, honor, renown, fame', often given as a title rather than as a name; c. AD 5 – c. 34) is traditionally venerated as the protomartyr or first martyr of Christianity. According to the Acts of the Apostles, he was a deacon in the early church at Jerusalem who angered members of various synagogues by his teachings. Accused of blasphemy at his trial, he made a speech denouncing the Jewish authorities who were sitting in judgment on him and was then stoned to death. Saul of Tarsus, later known as Paul the Apostle, a Pharisee and Roman citizen who would later become an apostle, participated in Stephen's execution.
