The Gulf Wars made no sense to me. 911 happened, and so Cheney said we were going to invade Iraq and there was going to be a long war, right?

As good an explanation as pulling all our defense around the Atlantic to shoot down any enemy plane after 911 already happened. It's like saying now we are pulling all our Naval defense to look for sharks.
