I take the point. But, as a European, I found the reference to mm (millimetres) initially confusing. I do wish that everyone would use the universally recognised "mn" for million.
Google uses mm....
Who uses Google? Who trusts Google? In any case, there's no excuse for stupid. When all the world (except some Americans) recognizes mm to mean millimeters, it's stupid to use it for anything else. And, by the way, anyone who measures wood etc. when constructing something should seriously consider using a metric measuring system. It's much easier than using fractions. We soon got used to it in the UK. (Actually, oldies such as me use both systems - whichever is most convenient.)
