Oh, please no. The last time I was in Canada the people were so rude. They do not like Americans and make it obvious that they do not want you there. Why would we want them to be part of our country?
Don't bet on it. I lived and worked in Toronto for over a decade, and I was always surprised at the amout of contempt that the average Canadian had for Americans. The averageAmerican was seen as stupid, unophisticated, violent and crude. By comparison, Canadians saw themselves in the same light as many Europeans do: culturally and morally superior to anyone raised in the USA.
I am American, but I was living there at the time, so you could say that I "passed" as Canadian. I got a closeup look at this superior attitude -- which I found all the stranger, since Canadians as a group were doing everything they possibly could to copy everything American. Sort of multiple-personality disorder on a national scale.

You sound like a bit of a twat missus. If Canadians, who are world-renowned for their politeness, were rude to you I'm sure you had it coming.
"I'm sure you had it coming."

Yes. I spent time in that city. Your assessment is very accurate.
