Not to change your post title, but it looks like "they" are also trying to tell us things are also cooling down. Some of the far left sites are saying a polar vortex will hit this Monday and most of the country will have well below freezing temps. Some of the articles - like in Newsweek and Yahoo - say it will tax the electric grid and many will see blackouts and rolling blackouts. They are even saying it will hit the gulf coast, and it can bring lots of snow.
Note - when I look at Accuweather it does say a polar vortex is coming, but for example my area in East Texas shows low 20s (F) at night and mid 40s in the day. The 20s suck, but I had -8 during the 2021 big storm with 4 days without power. It didn't get above freezing for 5 days. If the days are in the 40s snow will melt. As long as we have power and the heat is on in the house nothing will freeze. I will protect my outdoor faucets, and may run a drip in my kitchen overnight since that is the coldest area around the pipes, but wood for my fireplace and electricity for heat will be just fine.
I wonder if this is another one of their plans - cause a blackout and blame the vortex?
Make sure you have charged-up flashlights, wood for a fireplace or a fire pit outside, and food you don't need to cook and you should be fine. I'm more worried what "they" want to do by causing blackouts.
