American citizens, in their own country, SHOULD NOT have to compete with the entire world for jobs in America... please DOWN VOTE if you disagree and then tell us why.

Nothing wrong with the ordinary visa program. We shouldn't punish those who are not causing any problem. They are not exploiting the H-1B. They are not illegally crossing the border to live as a shadow class.
Edit: Hmmm. So I get downvoted because I am telling the truth? Why is that hard to hear?
Doesn't matter, we need to fix our unemployment and homeless issues before we can take in more people. It only hurts Americans more.
It does matter. We have set up a legitimate process that is not easy to negotiate and have made promises to people who follow that process. Just because WE screw up with OUR OWN employment and "homeless" problems doesn't mean we should take it out on people who ARE NOT CAUSING THESE PROBLEMS. My wife has spent close to 20 years working toward naturalization, earning her own way and working at jobs Americans don't want to work at, because they are so low-paying. No H-1B visa here. She was a Trump supporter before he entered politics, and she wants the illegals to be deported forthwith.
Everyone with your opinion is either non american or benefits some way from a non american, or has family that's non american. THIS IS AMERICA, JOBS HERE ARE FOR AMERICANS, AMERICANS CAN NOT COMPETE WITH THE REST OF THE WORLD IN THEIR OWN FUCKING COUNTRY OR WE CAN'T SURVIVE IN OUR OWN HOMELAND. THERE IS NO COMPROMISE!! And for the love of God with you STOP CLAIMING AMERICANS DON'T WANT JOBS! I know plenty of people working for low pay BECAUSE IT'S BETTER THAN BEING FUCKING HOMELESS! I've had enough of the rest of the world thinking they are entitled to our fucking homeland that our own family fought and died for. That's not how this fucking works! Telling people they can't come to our country to take our jobs because there isn't enough to go around tor the people already here ISN'T FUCKING PUNISHING THEM! Getting to come here is a fucking privilege, no one is entitled to it, and the only shit that is guaranteed is to the american people only! WHY THE FUCK IS THIS SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND!
My wife works in home care attendance. The jobs are open to anyone with the proper state certification. No H-1B visas (the employers are too cheap to go to the trouble, and the payoff is nil). No white people show up. None. It is left to the Africans and Filipinos. It is this way across the nation. Much the same to be said about nursing and resident physicians. There are some patients/clients who insist on a white attendant, but they have to be put on a waiting list. (Before all this was an issue, the best doctor I ever had was a Pakistani. Businesslike, incisive, active to do what was necessary for a clear diagnosis. I had no reason to be a racist about it. He was excellent.)
Of course Americans could compete---but they don't. In a large city, there are plenty of people who are content to be homeless, but they are drug offenders, violent criminals, and the clinically insane. There are plenty of people who are willing to work in restaurants and coffeehouses---and plenty of politicians who think they can do them a favor by increasing the minimum wage---but this leads to coffeehouses and restaurants going out of business and jobs being lost all around.
There are enough jobs to go around, if we are not subsidizing imported labor. This is also a good reason to support labor unions. They have been attuned to the problem with H-1B visas for decades.
This crap is not unique to America. South Africa is going through a phase of heightened nationalist/racist nativism in employment that has resulted in severe violence against workers from Uganda or Zambia, at jobs for which there are not enough qualified South African blacks. The SAs who want the foreigners expelled at the point of death are not highly qualified to be anything, except belligerent. The terrible practice of "necklacing" has been reintroduced. Of course this is all in the context of a national government whose leadership talks glibly about killing all the white people, so perhaps it is a bad example of intemperance.
My mother's parents were immigrants on her father's (Germany) and her mother's (Netherlands) sides. My father's mother was from a Swiss family that immigrated. My father's father's family descended from English immigrants in the 17th century. They all worked harder than Hell and had to build, because there was nothing to buy. So, I don't understand your antagonism toward honest, legal immigrants who came to settle, work, and build---not suck up welfare and other favors.
I had to work in a challenging technical occupation with every kind of American, including Germans, Frenchmen, Iranians, Englishmen, Chinese, Indians (Hindu-type). What you don't seem to grasp is that it didn't matter where they came from. They were part of the competition anyway. And it wasn't a free-for-all fistfight. It was a collaboration where the key thing was doing one's best. If people come here to become Americans, then it is only fair that they should be seen to work AS AMERICANS. Then your complaint will be taken care of.
Americans are suckers and have been ever since Johnson 1965 immigration reform. Enough already! We are too nice! And these don't assimilate. They don't change their names. They don't change their beliefs, holidays, customs or values! This is why the country is so fractured! Just look at the maps before 1965: Americans lived on the west and yeast coasts in large number and then after 1965 the influx of foreigners has driven many(48%) to move to the center of the country. Do you know what that is called? Demographic flight! People of different and incompatible cultures and countries flee from one another! Where can Americans run next? Greenland?! For the last 60 years what we are experiencing is an INVASION with the goal of REPLACEMENT.
But they are. They brag about it. And for the few who are doing it out of legitimate purpose are getting shunned too. First hand experience.
By "they", I presume you mean the H-1B holders.
Yes, and their employers. It's competition pissing while the unfortunate struggle to keep a home for their children.
