I'm currently 29 weeks pregnant and I'm due for a Rhogam shot because my blood type is rh negative and my husband's is rh positive. The Rhogam shot is made up of plasma from other donors. Now that people took the covid vaccine, I don't know what to do. I'm afraid that skipping the shot will hurt the baby if she is also rh positive.

So sorry I have no advice but I can pray.
Thank you!
You are welcome.
My husband’s a doctor and he said it should be safe to receive the shot. The vaccine (if they got it) is in their DNA and shouldn’t be in the bloodstream. He says that shot is important for you and the baby. However, this isn’t his area of expertise and who knows what those crazy vaccines can and can’t do. Sorry I don’t have more info. I will keep yall in my prayers.
Thank you so much!
Are there any test to determine the likelihood of your baby’s blood type?
Prayers for you and your family…..
Thank you! We did a nipt test when I was around 10 weeks along, but found out recently that the test also shows the baby's blood type. I asked my midwife about it, but she said that I would've had to put a request for the baby's blood type at that time. I didn't know about it and none of the midwives or my OB doctor ever told me about that option.
It should be a standard request for blood type when the mother is RH negative!
PRay on it and the answer will come.
I will thank you!

I am rh negative and I will share my experience.
As I remember I was given the rh vaccination AFTER I delivered my first baby whilst we were still at the hospital. They explained about my rh negative blood and that it was if I wanted more children, I needed to have it. I had ended up having two healthy babies, who have grown to adulthood. I had only that one rh vaccination after my first baby was born. My husband was rh positive. I got the shot because of my Great Aunt’s experience. She was negative Rh, they didn’t have the shot back then. Her first “two” babies were born healthy (yes, oddly enough she had two with no issues), but her third was born a “blue baby” and had to have a massive blood transfusion immediately after birth or the baby would have died. This condition is what I believe the rh shot is suppose to prevent. It has to do with your antibodies attacking your babies blood type. My Aunt’s third baby, Amy recovered well with no other problems, and grew to adulthood etc.
Is this your first child? Are you planning to have more than one? Perhaps you & your doctor could discuss the process & your risk. The difference in our experiences is that I was not given the shot when I was pregnant with my first child. When I was pregnant they didn’t want you drinking, or smoking & be careful with medications. I only got prenatal vitamins. This was 1977-1981.
I would ask the doctor if the rh vaccine has been mRNA reformulated. I had read that the scientists were going to move all vaccines over to the new mRNA platform. I read that they were planning to do this with a number of vaccines.
The doctors now want the shots during and after pregnancy. I had the shot with my first during pregnancy, but I'm not sure if I got it after the delivery with my first. I know somebody who had kids in the 80's and only had a shot after her delivery with the first baby, none with the last one and had 2 healthy babies. My first child unfortunately ended up with autism. I don't know if it was from the Rhogam shot or the childhood vaccines. I'm now worried about the mRNA in the shots. My husband and I have been leaning more toward not getting the shot though. Thank you so much for this information!
So sorry you are facing this. It's really hard when it's an adult receiving blood transfusions, but with a baby involved it must be so stressful for you. I pray you will get answers and that God will grant you much wisdom over it all <3
