Absolutely the right thing to do. It's one thing if a former President dies and gets a 30-day half-staff, but it's another (and untested, I think) when that period corresponds with the inauguration of a NEW President.
Would it be mean if I said, "Out with the old and In with the new?"
Or "Out with the former worst until recently and In with the Best?"
