yes, I think that's exactly what happened. and it's what the good behavior teachers would do for the real stubborn kids. they'd have to get them to 'break' before any real change would occur. lots of crying, throwing things etc. but once they finally went off, it would get better from there, when they knew that no one would given in to their tantrum. some people need boundaries...
