Zinc/Quecetin
🧐 Research Wanted 🤔
Ok I have been taking Quecetin and extra Zinc since Covid. My wife is suddenly concerned that I do not need to be taking as much zinc as I have 50 mg in the Quecetin and 50 mg in the Zinc daily. Should I scale back the zinc?
The zinc depletes a mineral starting with C I can’t remember what it is. I want to say copper ?? Anyone else remember?
Edit: it’s either chromium or copper I can’t remember
Copper. More than 25mg/day of zinc and your body for some reason just stops absorbing copper. Copper deficiency is very underdiagnosed as well (especially as our food is poor in copper from soil depletion), one of the first symptoms is premature greying of the hair which makes me wonder how long I had it since my beard started going grey in my 30s. I take a weekly trace minerals supplement with copper and chromium and my energy levels improved.
Correct. Rule of thumb is for every 4 grams of zinc that you supplement, take 1 gram of copper to avoid a deficiency.
That's still too much copper, you're off by a decimal point. Sounds like a recipe for copper toxicity.
Copper toxicity is a lie. It comes from the same people that tell you that everything over 2000 IU of vitamin D is toxic or if you drink colloidal silver you turn blue.
The proper term is copper imbalance, aka you have too much or too little in relation to your zinc and iron levels.
Copper is the most important mineral when it comes to your immune system, blood clotting, collagen production, etc etc So much so, that during the Spanish flu pandemic people that worked in copper mines and jewlery stores have avoided the virus for the most part.
This guy does a deep dive on the whole copper toxicity thing, and he comes to this simple conclusion: about 80% of population are copper deficient and they don't even know it. Take a moment to read the whole thing, especially the conclusion. He goes into more than just copper defficiency, but how the cabal used it to dumb us down and literally nobody talks about it. Like nobody.
