I'd take some of that money and start looking at central kitchens built in all Cities with a high percentage of visible minorities in need of food. Start buying in bulk directly from American Farmers. Start creating jobs and a distribution network in recyclable containers. Focus on delicious meals that cost less but are well received. Have contests for the best meals that use the least expensive, most abundant American ingredients. Offer jobs to the younger people who volunteer in these kitchens. Make America a productive restaurant experience all across the Nation. Have a netwrok to pick up the recycled containers and bring them back to be washed and reused. Kids on bikes can do it in the Spring, Summer & Fall. Bring prosperity back to the community, one good meal & job at a time. This WHOLE PROGRAM would cost less than what exists atm.
You can run both systems parallel. This blind thinking about future projects is poison. Who said it was Government doing it. It could be a Community run initiative with smart incentives and the positbilty of a bigger Career on a State of National level. Open your mind
Except in a time of declared war or nationwide disaster, gov’t should never spend more than it takes in. If the gov’t has to borrow money, it hasn’t eliminated enough useless crap yet.
I get it. There are sooooooo many ‘worthy’ programs out there that need ‘our’ help, but it’s sooooooo hard convincing all those individual Joe Lunchpails enough to pony up. However, it’s really easy convincing 425/100 congressmen/senators to fritter away money they steal from all those reluctant Joes
It’s that kind of short-term thinking that has us $36+ TRILLION in debt.

No.
Gov’t fucks up whatever it touches. No more spending, until they cut enough to live with their collected tax revenue.
If it’s important enough, people will voluntarily help, with time, money, or both.
