I wonder how this might effect Colorado democrats that want to ban any and all guns basically that holds a magazine or that goes boom. All their bans have never been put to the choice of the people. Polis and his minions make up a bill, pass it and he signs it. If this bill passes it will be the most restrictive in the country of our second amendment rights.
Same in IL, the public opposition in the witness slips was 64,000 vs 1000 proponents but they rammed it through at midnight anyway. They no longer care about public opinion here.
He missed something. The Entire Bill of Rights are Not 'rights' Given by Gov.. Each and every one are Restrictions ON Gov. of The People's rights Not to be infringed and Trump should make That very clear to the liberal/communists in Congress and the jr. communists in the liberal cities.
I understand your point and certainly agree that the Bill of Rights does not CREATE or GRANT rights but instead prohibits the infringement upon and creates a legal OBLIGATION for the federal government to DEFEND THE NATURAL RIGHTS of Americans. Trump's EO does not suggest that government has CREATED these rights:
The Second Amendment is an indispensable safeguard of security and liberty. It has preserved the right of the American people to protect ourselves, our families, and our freedoms since the founding of our great Nation. Because it is foundational to maintaining all other rights held by Americans, the right to keep and bear arms must not be infringed.
On the other hand, any EO is not a law passed by congress and thus has certain built-in limitations. An Executive Order can direct the actions of members of the Executive branch (which the President is the head of) but those directions must not violate existing laws -- although they can direct the tone and manner of activity of Executive Branch members. That direction can include prioritizing issues within a given area; for instance, under Obama and Biden, a high priority was given to concern for the terrorist potential of parents attending school board meetings and of protesters at abortion clinics; this was used (fraudulently and thus illegally) as an excuse to commit lawfare against honest, non-violent Americans.
Clearly, Trump is using his EO powers to right the ship instead of to move us deeper into tyranny.
Undoing any of Biden's unconstitutional deeds is a start, but that's a long ways away from abolishing the ATF.
Also, there are plenty of states that are in violation of the 2A. Hope that gets dealt with soon.

One word….repugnant. The 2A was purposely written the way it was. Short and to the point.
