I can't find what antivirus the US government uses although I did see where there was a licensing agreement with McAfee that allowed DoD employees and contractors to download and use McAfee antivirus for free on their personal home computers in the past.
However there was a warning to, "Please be advised, DISA Home Use licensing for McAfee Internet Security is for personal/privately purchased devices only. Do not install McAfee Internet Security on Government Furnished Equipment (GFE)."
With the pressure from Russian, Chinese, North Korean, and Iranian hackers, I just sorta assumed that the DoD would subject all software to rigorous testing to make sure the software wasn't doing anything nefarious before running down to Walmart, buying a copy of McAfee AV and installing it on a DoD-networked computer.
