U.S. Navy Releases Image of Damage to USS Harry S. Truman After Collision at Sea
While an investigation is ongoing, the U.S. Navy has released a photo captured in the aftermath of the collision with the merchant vessel Besiktas-M, showing damage to an observation platform. As already reported here at The Aviationist, the USS Harry S. T...
That'll buff out...
Just slap some duct tape on and anchors away.
A thick coat of "haze gray" should do it.
I love optimists!
This has got to be the most bizarre collision, ever. I almost thought it was some kind of joke at first. Seriously, how does a merchant vessel or any vessel get that close to an aircraft carrier, much less collide at sea? What am I missing here?
I know, thinking the same thing
Tonnage has the right of way.
So a merchant ship got that close to a US navy nuclear aircraft carrier? I hope the DEI shit head in charge is OK.
Wth planes now ships ?

My other post about the collision -

There's about to be some firings. First, the ship captain, then perhaps the admiral in charge of the fleet. Perhaps too many DEI sailors on the ship. An aircraft carrier is the most protected ship in the convoy. There is no way a merchant vessel can slip in through the defense net and strike the carrier. There has to be a massive amount of failures for this to happen, and each ship's commander will be help accountable.
