The Movement to Merge Parts of Oregon Into 'Greater Idaho' Just Took Another Step Closer to Becoming a Reality | The Gateway Pun...
The Greater Idaho movement is gaining traction as conservative counties in Oregon push to secede and join Idaho. A recent legislative proposal signals a pivotal moment in this contentious debate over governance and representation.
It's absolute nonsense to cede the entire west coast to the effing libtards
Missing out on eastern Washington's conservative counties is a shame.
Lincoln county wa is as American as it gets.
Wouldn't the natural boundary be along the Cascades for both WA & OR?
no more sniffing state?
Only Portland a Salem are blu. The rest of the state is red. Get rid of proportional representative voting and sanity will return.
It's the part with all the nice oregonians. Problem is that it's desolate and barely populated and virtually nothing to base any industry off of.
Doesn't eastern Oregon raise cattle? Isn't it ranches?
Some cattle, yes. But I haven't seen it on a huge industrial scale. All I've seen is alfalfa and barley and some other extreme cold resistant grains and some small family run cattle operations that are barely above the scale of a hobby farm. Also sheep. Sheep seem to do pretty ok out here.
What happens if they join Idaho and then in the next few years all the Multnomah county corruption gets cleaned out? Maybe they should try to hold out a little longer in case that state rights itself. Though that whole Portland area is pretty insufferable, and I haven’t lived there in 20 years, so I can’t even imagine how bad it must be now!
