I feel like 90% of all the Old Guard has been absent since the Inauguration, except for Schiff and those in Congress.
And let’s face it Schiff is small potatoes. Most likely already cut loose by the Major Players….
He may be small potatoes, but I'm eagerly awaiting his arrest and trial. But in the immortal words of The Joker, "He looks like a squealer." I hope he can't give them any info they don't already have as admissible evidence.
Can't arrest them while Congress is in session. I'm waiting for a recess to be called. :D
Why can't they be arrested?
It's against the law to arrest Congressmen while Congress is in session.
According to Article I, Section 6, Clause 1 of the U.S. Constitution, senators and representatives are privileged from arrest during their attendance at the session of their respective houses and in going to and returning from the same, except in cases of treason, felony, or breach of the peace.
This means that congressmen can be arrested for crimes such as treason, felony, or breach of the peace while attending or traveling to and from Congress. Additionally, they can be arrested for minor offenses unrelated to these serious crimes at any time.
