This is much bigger than just the stupid green coke jester.

Trump wanted most of Ukraine as the spoils of the war. Russia was more than happy to give it to him so long as they had what they wanted (security mostly). And Trump would have made the deal.

But the EU and Britain aren't going to allow this. They want Ukraine for themselves and already own a large part of it. Zelensky is their asset and will do their bidding.

This bridge was burned on purpose because Europe thinks Trump will fold anyway due to NATO commitments. Like a bitch girlfriend starting a fight thinking her man will be forced to do the fighting. No one actually believes Trump will dump NATO
