Most of the stuff they put out is for home consumption... letting their Chinese peasants know that the CCP is on the job, ready to fight Capitalism, blah blah blah. In reality, the Chinese leaders know EXACTLY where China stands in the world and it's not looking good for the home team.

Yep.. it's optics for their own citizens.

But later on when President Xi meets with President Trump, he'll roll out the red carpet again and make some great deals. And then Dems will be crying again for no reason.
