The Department of Justice and SCOTUS agreed in 2005 that it's ok for the President to use an Autopen to sign bills. Bush Jr. requested a full review of all of Clinton's signed bills when he found out an Autopen was used. A few dozen very Republican legal scholars agreed that an autopen was fine.
