I was a teacher for 10 years at 4 different schools, both elementary and middle schools, and there was a high profile arrest of a male colleague in 3 out of 4 of those schools (including an elementary school). The 2 middle school cases involved a male staff member having sexual relationships on campus with female students and I believe in one case the victim ended up pregnant. The elementary school one fortunately(?) was indecent/improper conduct, so I assume the child was not raped but was exposed. I also had suspicions about a female teacher in the school that did not have an arrest. It was definitely inappropriate contact against district policy (texting students and having them on social media) but I could not prove it was sexual in nature.

This is a major epidemic where I live (major city metro area). It seems we have horrific cases come out every couple months, not even in one district but many of the ones in the area. I genuinely cannot wrap my head around it, I guess because I’m not a pedo.
