Kennedy are being released, as ordered by President Trump. This is a moment we’ve been waiting for — a chance to peel back the layers of one of America’s most enduring mysteries.
As moderators of The Great Awakening, we’re establishing this MAGA-thread as the central hub for all discussion, updates, and analysis surrounding the JFK files drop. Let’s honor JFK’s legacy, reflect on the significance of this date, and dive into these files with the relentless curiosity and dedication this community is known for.
Honoring John F. Kennedy: A Short Historical Reflection
Before we dig in, let’s take a moment to pay respects to JFK — a leader whose life and death left an indelible mark on our nation. John Fitzgerald Kennedy, born May 29, 1917, in Brookline, Massachusetts, rose from a prominent political family to become the 35th President of the United States on January 20, 1961. At 43, he was the youngest elected president and the first Roman Catholic to hold the office. His presidency, though cut short, was defined by bold vision: navigating the Cold War, facing down the Cuban Missile Crisis, championing civil rights, and inspiring a generation with his call to “ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country.”
On November 22, 1963, JFK was assassinated in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 46. The official narrative pinned the act on Lee Harvey Oswald, a lone gunman, but decades of skepticism and conspiracy theories have kept the truth elusive. His death wasn’t just the loss of a president — it was the shattering of a dream, a moment that shifted the trajectory of America. Today, as these files drop, we honor JFK by seeking the clarity he and the American people deserve.

ASIO recommended against the declassification of the JFK Files & wanted to keep ‘Document CD-971’ out of the public domain.
💥WHY?
ASIO knew about the assassination plot & kept it quiet.
Warren Commission Document CD-971 is a memo dated November 29, 1963, written by CIA Director Richard Helms to J. Lee Rankin, a Warren Commission attorney. It discusses anonymous calls received by the U.S. Embassy in Canberra, Australia.
One call, from October 15, 1962—over a year before JFK’s assassination—allegedly claimed that "Iron Curtain Countries" had placed a $100,000 bounty on President Kennedy’s head.
Another call, referenced in the memo, came from an individual identified as a Polish chauffeur for the Soviet Embassy in Canberra, who suggested after the assassination that the Soviet government might have financed it.
The CIA reportedly dismissed this caller as a "crank," and the information was not known to them until after Kennedy’s death.
The document’s sensitivity led to significant secrecy. In a letter dated October 15, 1968, Brigadier Charles Spry, head of the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO), urged CIA Director Richard Helms to keep CD-971 classified, a request that delayed its release.
It was first declassified in 1976, but its full implications remain debated. Some speculate it could hint at foreknowledge of the assassination plot, though no conclusive evidence supports this.
The push for secrecy by both U.S. and Australian authorities has fueled curiosity about what else it might contain.
