I believe you’re right about work having slowed to a crawl rather than stopping outright, but that business of them planting olive trees all over ancient ruins and then having legislation pass to give the trees 150 years to grow and destroy the ruins seems pretty freakin calculated to me.
FAR too much bad shit has gone down over the last few years for me to give the wef the benefit of the doubt and believe it’s about money and tourism and not about controlling the archeological and historical narrative.
