I had to take my 11 year old last week to the DR for a checkup so he can continue occupational therapy and told them no more vaccines ever and the DR kept trying to convince me that he should really get the measles shot and I told him if he gets the measles we will just deal with it, needless to say he wasn't very happy and the rest of the visit was definitely odd
I had the measles when I was 6 - wasn’t any sicker than strep throat or anything else — probably missed a week of school ( til rash was gone ) 1959 or so - mumps hurt worse cause painful swallowing— chickenpox miserable itching for a few days — only vaccinations I ever had (72 yo btw) was dpt , polio on a sugar cube and smallpox on my left shoulder. I never had diphtheria or tetanus ( had lots of horses and rusty nails) but I did get pertussis ( whooping cough) — the p of the dpt vaccine when I was in my 50’s — vaccine wore off and worked with Mexican nationals that had misc diseases — lost 8-10 pounds in a few weeks due to whooping and vomiting after every meal trying to eat but 30-40 days later perfectly fine — my mom had it as a child in the 1930’s and remembered enough to walk me through some— meanwhile— vaccines do not give lifelong protection— perhaps the actual disease doesn’t either but I’d count on the disease immunity gained 100x’s over any vaccine myself
I had all the childhood diseases too, two types of measles. My siblings and cousins got to come spend playtime with me- I wasn't treated like I was sick. Spread it and get it over with was how my mom and aunt dealt with it.
