A gas tax to maintain roads doesn't bother me too bad. Drivers pay for what they are using. If someone doesn't drive very much, they pay less. As long as road maintenance is done EFFICIENTLY (which, of course, right now it isn't).
Have you seen the roads here in Mississippi? They are trash. The money won’t be spent right and they will hire out of state contractors to do the roads. We are the poorest state yet already pay the highest grocery prices in the nation.

I was just telling someone in heaven, the streets are paved with gold without pot holes. Here it is all full of potholes.
