It says something like you have to be a "tax netpayer" and "make more than $40,000" a year. A bit disheartening if that's true, there's lots of hardworking Americans who dont make that much, that still need it :(
and wtf does a "net taxpayer" even mean?
The article says that a net taxpayer is someone who pays in more taxes than they get back as a refund. So if you are already getting a larger refund than you pay in- basically not paying anything in at all- then you wouldn't get the $5k.
Many people already get a payout at tax time in the form of refunds.
every paycheck i made last year, and years before, i was taxed the hell out of. and i never really got much returned when filing taxes. so i qualify for the check?
