Firearms training good or bad is a given...I would like to see however a greater respect for the Bill of Rights being taught and enforced amongst today's and tomorrows LEO's, far too many presume to enter a scene and exhibit conduct that some how our constitutional rights are on hold because they have entered the fray and their curious. Treat some one like an asshole, you should expect the same respect is earned and easily lost based on behavior alone. Good Law enforcement yes...thin blue lines and police state tactic's are on their way out, why?...In the end all you former jarheads are good at following rules...and soon enough it will be We The People making the rules.
As for Rules I do propose that LEO's can't serve two masters, so in the future you can be all the Freemason you want to be....but you can't never operate in law enforcement and be a Freemason as well. Just my pie in the sky suggestion.
Peaces
(btw forgot to mention civil service employee unions are block as well)
My academy had a similar course but the agency I worked for had a monthly qual that covered the more realistic stuff the writer speaks about. We even had the only live fire shoot house in the state I worked. I trained at least 4 times a year for 2 days on active shooter stuff at the shoot house and quarterly we went to two different t schools on a qual day and practiced in the actual environment we would have to work if an incident occurred. I really appreciated the level of training we got. At the end of the year, anynleft over practice ammo was divided among the officers to train with on their own. We had great instructors. When I was selected as swat k9 I spent another 2 days a month on the range or at various empty buildings and houses practicing movement. Plus a couple of tactical zk9 courses specifically for swat.
