The melting pot was when people were still coming here by ship and airplane and properly registering themselves. Now we have walking biological weapons freely coming across our border, subhumans that have no value of life. You're not wrong, and I do understand the difference.
My point was that the current additions do not blend with (assimilate to) the existing culture. When that is fixed (by locking out illegals, and screening new legal applicants) we can have our melting pot back.
