What’s funny to me is that this type of meltdown in the stock markets didn’t happen when the economy shut down in 2020, but now we have this massive sell off because countries want to improve trade with each other? Sounds to me like the stock market has been living a lie for a while.
Today, everyone on the left is screaming "What about the little people? They're going to lose their 401K money!" Where were they when I lost $60K of mine back in 2022?
When people learn to do with less resources and become more self sufficient they will be "tougher". The sick and really poor will stop holding everyone back. Trade is being restricted.
money and abundance was not a good thing for the people of the USA.
Nothing stops you from tariffing China to bring the jerbs back, while also tariffing Argentina to improve trade, which both happened. World isn't completely solid black or completely solid white.
I guess I’m seeing it as both. Yes, tariffs will restrict some foreign trade, but that should be a good thing as it should encourage countries to do what they do best (e.g., always running a trade deficit puts the country’s people out of work). Flooding overseas markets with cheap stuff only seems to help the few who are controlling the trade, while the majority gets the scraps.

Since 1913. They were waiting for a right opportunity to pop and blame someone. Hedge funds.
I thought this was all part of the plan, so the stock market has been doing exactly what it was supposed to be doing all this time.

What happen in 2022?
Are the tariffs so we can improve trade? Or are they so we can restrict trade to force companies to come back to the US for manufacturing?
Kind of hard to do both.
its to make everyone stronger. poor= strong
How will it accomplish that? Are we improving trade? Or restricting it?
