Go drive around Macomb, Wayne, Oakland and Monroe Counties. So much capacity sitting there idle. 100k jobs worth. Maybe more. Probably more. And people wonder why Detroit is a decaying mess. In 1960 Detroit was the 3rd largest city in the country with nearly 3 million people. Now there are 700k people. Take a drive through the Packard plant. What a sight that must have been in its heyday. A city unto itself.
I live 10 minutes from there and that plant had to have been a site to see in its heyday. I still believe it can all be corrected and brought back. It needs to be for the long term health of our country.
The wife and I like to drive through it when we hit the Farmers Market in the summer. And a trip down East Grand Boulevard too to see all the mansions. People who slam Detroit without ever spending time here piss me off. This was one of the worlds great cities and it was pretty much intentionally sacrificed on the altar of globalism and cultural marxism.
We do the exact same thing. Detroit has incredible history and is a great example of what happens when you sacrifice your country and its people to globalism. My Grandma and Grandpa both grew up in the city and worked in auto parts manufacturing plants, all of which are gone now.
