It was darbyism or premillennial dispensationalism which is a eschatological viewpoint of interpreting revelation and some other prophecies like those in Daniel as having future fulfillment and not realizing they have already been fulfilled. Because of this people that use this modern interpretation of Revelation and the prophecies in the Old testament that Revelation is referencing, it puts Israel as a centerpiece of future fulfillment.
There's no worldwide apocalypse in the Bible. There is the end of the age, not the world. Revelation was about a localized destruction of Jerusalem and the temple which already happened. Revelation is over 40% references from the Old testament and some of the words of Jesus.
The book of Revelation was likely written somewhere between 64 to 68 AD during the reign of Nero Caesar. If you write Nero Caesar in Hebrew letters which are also numbers It's "666"
Jerusalem and the Temple was destroyed in 70 AD by Rome.
Revelation 1:3 said "the time is near"
The book of Revelation also specifically mentions the temple as still standing in 11:1-2 which pretty well puts to rest any idea that The dating of that book is any later.
