Is it manufactured or flagged? Because rich people register their boats in the Caribbean to avoid paying US taxes.

First line of my first response. Chinese built and flaged anywhere. So if a corporation purchased a Chinese ship that's flagged in Indonesia, that company WILL be facing a million dollar "tax". Sucks to be in the shipping business right now, with a bunch of Chinese built carriers.

Sucks more to be reliant on shipping companies, that used profits to buy Chinese ships, which will then pass that cost into the customer
