Pascha, the true name of the feast, is a celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, and as such, is the most important celebration in the world. And certainly, for all Christians. It is the day that Hell was breached and all those good people who had been imprisoned there were freed. Also, it give all power to Christianity to save souls of the living. It is everything.
Acts 12:1-4 KJV
Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church. [2] And he killed James the brother of John with the sword. [3] And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.) [4] And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.

Acts 12:1 Now about that time Herod the king stretched out his hand to harass some from the church. 2 Then he killed James the brother of John with the sword. 3 And because he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to seize Peter also. Now it was during the Days of Unleavened Bread. 4 So when he had arrested him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four squads of soldiers to keep him, intending to bring him before the people after Passover.
5 Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church.
Peter Delivered from Prison
6 And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison. 7 Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, "Arise quickly!" And his chains fell off his hands. 8 Then the angel said to him, "Gird yourself and tie on your sandals"; and so he did. And he said to him, "Put on your garment and follow me." 9 So he went out and followed him, and did not know that what was done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. 10 When they were past the first and the second guard posts, they came to the iron gate that leads to the city, which opened to them of its own accord; and they went out and went down one street, and immediately the angel departed from him. 11 And when Peter had come to himself, he said, "Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people." 12 So, when he had considered this, he came to the house of Mary, the mother of John whose surname was Mark, where many were gathered together praying. 13 And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a girl named Rhoda came to answer. 14 When she recognized Peter's voice, because of her gladness she did not open the gate, but ran in and announced that Peter stood before the gate. 15 But they said to her, "You are beside yourself!" Yet she kept insisting that it was so. So they said, "It is his angel." 16 Now Peter continued knocking; and when they opened the door and saw him, they were astonished. 17 But motioning to them with his hand to keep silent, he declared to them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, "Go, tell these things to James and to the brethren." And he departed and went to another place. 18 Then, as soon as it was day, there was no small stir among the soldiers about what had become of Peter. 19 But when Herod had searched for him and not found him, he examined the guards and commanded that they should be put to death. And he went down from Judea to Caesarea, and stayed there.
The Death of Herod
20 Now Herod had been very angry with the people of Tyre and Sidon; but they came to him with one accord, and having made Blastus the king's personal aide their friend, they asked for peace, because their country was supplied with food by the king's country. 21 So on a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat on his throne and gave an oration to them. 22 And the people kept shouting, "The voice of a god and not of a man!" 23 Then immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give glory to God. And he was eaten by worms and died. 24 But the word of God grew and multiplied. 25 And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem when they had fulfilled their ministry, and they also took with them John whose surname was Mark.
Back when all Christians were Catholics, Lent season was a time of fasting and penance. They wouldn’t even eat eggs, it was very strict fasting. So once Easter came, they celebrated with eggs which most could afford.
I don't care about the pagan reference. The same with Christmas. Both days are celebrated by christians as significant to Jesus and rightfully so. Satan twists things to create division. If you stay focused on what is true and good, this kind of stuff is meaningless.
Yes. Pagan all the way. Just like Christmas. It is a celebration just after the solstice. This is thought the represent the death of the sun god. Days begin lengthen after the solstice. This represents to pagans the birth of the sun god. Sadly for them, their sun god only lives one year. The moon goddess will become pregnant next Ishtar.
Easter typically (should) fall on Passover, and Christ is the sacrificial lamb in which death (second death) shall pass over all of us believers. Then Saturday is the Sabbath Day, where God honors his Commandment, and Christ rises Sunday, first day of the week.
Don't need to paint eggs and get a bunny. Just get your kid gifts and make them want to remember and celebrate the risen Lord and only living God.
You can assert whatever you wish. That does not excuse the practice of pagan rituals. If you write Jesus name in the middle of a pentagram, is the worship of the pentagram holy?
I believe Jesus would rather flip over the pagan idols like he flipped over the tables of the money changers in the temple and reclaim Easter for the glory of the Father.
No need to reclaim. He has what is His. Those that are not His will not seek Him. He doesn't need your help adopting pagan holidays. He doesn't need trees in December either.
Jeremiah 10:2-4 KJV
Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. [3] For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. [4] They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
Quit worshipping in accordance to the signs of heaven and do so in accordance with the word of God.
I have always felt a special connection with Christ on Easter Sunday. And neither your cynicism nor the world's paganism can keep me from having Jesus in my heart even more than usual that day.
Thanks be to God!
Amen! ☝️🙌

Isn’t that Paula why he was asking for $1000 donations during the Easter season 🤮
Trump needs to put some distance between her and the White House. She’s a horrible example of a Christian.
He needs to dump Paula White.
Easter is a celebration of a pagan goddess. It is a celebration of fertility. It celebrated on the first full moon after the spring equinox.
The celebration involves fertility symbols (egg and bunny).
Roughly 9 months later the birth of the sun god is celebrated.

Yes, it's Resurrection day to me and has been for many years.
So that is the reason for eggs the playboy bunnies?
It seems like the day hell is embraced.
Ishtar worship is evil.

The pollution of the observance of Christ's birth and resurrection have been around for a long time. It's your choice who you will revere and serve.

Yes, I agree.
i believe this pagan origin is accurate, and why i refuse to call it easter…i celebrate Ressurection Day of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

Yeah no one cares dude.

The world can cover up the truth with whatever pagan rituals they want. That does not negate the truth of Jesus.
True. Jesus doesn't need Easter. Abandon and condemn it as he would.
