In my opinion, THIS is worth the time to read and understand the sheer physicality of Jesus suffering on the cross...Ann Barnhardt tells it like it is, no glossing over, or "sanitized version" of a crucifixion death, Christ's in particular...brings me to tears every year, reading this and understanding the price Jesus paid for me, for you and for all...popular southern gospel song "He bought me just as I am" rings true...
AshlandDog, You ALWAYS bring something at the right time that is of more importance than one can imagine...
Today, being Good Friday, went to the Stations of the Cross @ my church...And I am so glad that I went...the priest read Psalm 91...
“O my God,
I thank You for this cross You’ve allowed me to carry.
Please give me the strength and faith
to persevere so that I may bring glory to Your Name,
all while withstanding the burden of its weight.
Thank You for offering me a share in Your suffering.
I know You have always been, are now, and ever will be,
at my side every step of the way.
Thank You also for every “Simon” You have sent
to help me bear this cross.
I’ve prayed so often that this thorn in my flesh
would be removed,
but I trust that Your grace is sufficient.
Change my heart’s troubled cry of:
“How long Lord?”
into words of trust:
“However long, O Lord.”
May I seek only to do Your will,
and to unite my sufferings with Your passion.
Help me to not get lost in my own self-concerns,
but that I may find in these trials
a way to greater virtue,
a call to prayer,
and a path to trust in You alone.
Permit me not to waste my pain,
but to make of all these struggles
a sacrificial offering for others, Lord;
when I am weary and I fall,
exhausted under the weight of this cross,
please give me the courage to press on as You did.
Lord Jesus, I embrace with love my cross,
as a share in Your own.
By Your grace, may I carry it all the way
to the vision of Your glory.
I abandon myself totally to Your will.
Christ Jesus, I trust in You.
Amen.”
When Jesus was on earth, possibly the Romans centurion who asked Jesus to heal his servant, and with humility asked Jesus to heal from afar. Even Our Lord was amazed at the gentile's (and conqueror's) faith, and the lack of faith of his people. So much so that the Centurion's words are said just before Holy Communion.
And all of us Christians, as we have never seen Jesus yet we believe He is God.
You're not doing it right if the religious world doesn't hate you.
Prefer the resurrection myself. Raised with power..
And the ascension, the ascended on Christ church.
The church made without hands
"Prefer the resurrection myself. Raised with power."
No cross, no resurrection.
Judica me, Deus, et discerne causam meam de gente non sancta,
For thou art God my strength: why hast thou cast me off?

"Have a Blessed Easter..."
May God bless you richly my beloved.
which religion killed him again? King of the J___
Read the book of John.
The Jews are not mentioned favorably in the book.
When Jesus said the world hates me, he was talking about the religion of the Jews.
Our zionist religionists are no better.
It is a love beyond what we can truly understand. The attempt to alone has changed the world.
Who had the most faith in Jesus?
