All the world's gold deliveries have gone to New York for the past 4 months. No other country has gotten anywhere near what is normal, almost nothing in fact. This has never happened in modern history (last 60 years). Basically, all the world's newly available gold has been shipped into the US. Things that make you go hmmmmmm?
All this to say, they've had more than enough time to TEMPORARILY "fill the stocks" in Ft. Knox for a one-time casual visit.
