This bill is nothing more than an advertising regulation to prevent politicos from spreading known deep fakes without a disclaimer.
There is NOTHING that prevents ANYONE from posting ANYTHING ANYWHERE.
The only change is that IF you're a political candidate (or in office, or a PAC), and IF you decide that you want to use fake AI shit in your PAID ADVERTISING, you must include a disclaimer.
Read the bill for yourself, and see if if I'm wrong (I'm not): https://legiscan.com/TX/text/HB366/2025
Now, if you got all up in arms believing that HB 366 was going to "criminalize political memes", it's time for you to reevaluate who you listen to, because they just propagandized you, and you fell for it.
We're in an information war, and without discernment and critical thought, you're just further contributing to the chaos.
Lawmakers in Texas should have been smart enough to get the word out first. They dropped the ball, they should know patriots don't trust their RINO asses......
If they are so clueless, they don't know how social media works, they should retire..
Right?? The TxGOP failed miserably with the messaging for this one.
TBH i think so little of the TxGOP that I wasn't surprised by the original post. Oklahoma Arkansas Florida a lot of states are doing way better.
