I don't mean educate them about what's going on, I mean educate them about cognitive dissonance and basic psychology using subjects other than politics so they become more aware of when it's happening to them. It definitely worked for me, I'm much more able to change my mind about something when presented with new info instead of rejecting it because I have a self awareness of my own psychology I haven't had in the past until it was explained to me.
