I think there are going to be a lot of disappointed people when that announcement does come.
I really have to wonder how it is that people keep doing this over and over and over and over again, just thinking that this time it's going to be different. This time Lucy is definitely going to let Charlie Brown actually kick that football.
Now don't get your panties in a twist. I'm not insulting or being disrespectful of President Trump. This is what he does. He just really hypes up the positives on whatever it is he's going to say/do. Nothing wrong with that. It's simply showmanship. He's a master of it.
The issue is whenever he does this, people go absolutely apeshit, coming up with all these fantasies that are not in the least little bit realistic. Yeah, OK, maybe the first few times you saw him do it, you thought it was going to be some earth shattering, life changing thing...And it turned out he was selling trading cards.
But after a decade or two, and no telling how many times he's done it, people should have gotten the hint by now.
Most of this stuff people are fantasizing about (ending income tax, or all taxes, getting rid of the Fed, annexing Greenland, annexing Canada, running for a 3rd (or 4th) term, renaming the Gulf of Mexico, ending NATO, rounding up his enemies and sending them to Gitmo to be hung for treason...live, on-air no less!) are just not realistic at all. These are not things the President can do without approval from Congress. And last I checked, Congress was full of liberals and RINOs who would do everything they possibly could to stop him.
And the President shouldn't be able to do those types of things with just a signature on a piece of paper. Because how well would that have gone over when Biden was in office and using the AutoPen? (Anything ever actually happen to resolve that issue, btw? Or are we just going to forget all about it?)
Yeah, it's always super great when it's our guy that would have that power. But then you have to think about what would happen when their guy has that same power.
I wish people wouldn't have such blatant double standards when it comes to this stuff. It's just so disheartening. 😕
