if the earth stood still they would be in deep space, the whole galaxy is moving after all, even if the earth "stopped" (but realistically how could that possibly happen baring outrageous scifi speculation) for a day they would end up in deep space, the whole thing was just a larp anyway, a creative writing exercise, i assume that guy is just trying to discredit this place by making wild connections, his name is john titor for christ sake
