Gov't spending will NEVER go down without outside force. The polite way is passing a mandatory Balanced Budget amendment. There's no way the politicians will tie their own hands, so the only way left is a Constitutional Convention. I won't hold my breath on that one.

In the absence of politeness, we are left with 'my vote is No'.

Frankly, at this point, if Congress goes into permanent gridlock for the next two years, that would come out in the wash as an improvement.
