I'm loathe to visit a doctor and go through the whole PCP selection crap and take time off work.
But I have this odd set of symptoms I can't explain.
So, two weeks ago, I started installing vinyl siding on the side of our two story garage. It's 32' wide and probably 24' tall at the peak. I sit behind a desk all day, so I expect to be sore. As it happened, we got a heat wave. 97+ temps with over 100 heat index and no rain. But it was an opportunity to knock this out.
So I've been sore. A lot. Mostly shoulders and thighs and maybe a little in the knees (I'm 57 btw). After trying every pain reliever I could find, I settled on 2 Ibuprofen every six hours (I know this is more than recommended) with occasional acetaminophen. This lets me sleep, let's me do the day job and still take care of the siding. Supplement with topical Diclofenac.
Last week two other weird things started happening. One is I'd get a "heavy head" at 3pm for the rest of the day like clockwork. Not terrible but making it difficult to focus. Every morning I wake up and it's gone.
The other is I have a fever that comes and goes with no rhyme or reason. I noticed Friday my eyes were hot so I took my temp and it was over 100 (my normal is 97.1 on the dot). It was still super hot Friday so I attributed it to that. But the weekend brought cooler weather and, while I've dropped to 97.1 twice, I've hit 98,99 ,100 multiple times even when calm and cool in the a/c and despite all the Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen I'm taking. I'm 99.1 right now relaxing in bed after a long day of work in my air conditioned office and 45 minutes after two Ibuprofen.
I feel like there's two separate things happening. One is I'm getting older and pushing myself too hard. But I feel like something else is going on ( the head issues and fever and maybe some of the fatigue)
BTW, I have a pulse oximeter and I'm consistently 97% with the occasional drop to 96. We have a BP device so I am going to monitor that as soon as I find it.
Then you're not replenishing your electrolytes therefore your body is purging water in an attempt to stop you from diluting your already depleted electrolytes even further. Put a bit of salt in your water at the least.
