I didn't get to see this until very late in the day (taking care of my cat who is recovering from a stroke). I've been alive for nearly 30% of these 250 years (hard to believe, but I did the math twice) and this is as memorable a peak moment in the nation's history as Kennedy's assassination was a disastrous sorrow. I am so greatly impressed by the complete and widespread decency of this administration, and so encouraged by the country's rapid response to sane and courageous policy. I am glad to live as an American in this time, representing my family line back to before the beginning of the country. Whence we come, thither shall we go, with God's blessing.
