What if Zelensky, most of Europe, Putin and the WH are all fighting on the same side against the Kazarian mafia barricaded in underground bunkers rn?
How else could a war like that be justified? The public would demand to know what we were fighting underground.
But if 'the story' is it's " Zelensky (secretly central casting, WH-controlled) vs Putin " then it's a lot easier to explain away to the public as just another old fashioned war.
I don't know. And I don't believe the above.
Just throwing out ideas. But any stone left unturned could be the stone (idea) that conceals what's really going on.

There's definitely a deep game going on. Look at how Trump somehow handled Iran almost instantly, and brought attention to Epstein in a way that got the wokes worked up.
