Yeah, that's a heretical myth,.
Pretty much physically impossible to make that trip in that day, besides the fact of it being extra-Biblical.
Where does it say a day? That must have been a hell of a hike to get away from the Assyrians.
My guess they were already on the outpost guarding the borders against enemy attack.
The Assyrians used the Israelites because they were great fighters.
