I did the steer riding/bucking when was a kid for a couple of years, we would ride our horses down to it and tether them along a fence line most years, had to have parent there to sign ya up if you wanted to ride in any of the kiddo events or we all would of been in there every year lol. They had shut down our local yearly rodeo years ago but, it finally came back last summer and was a booming event this year.
I was first exposed to this when I went to the PBR event in Deadwood SD last month. The kids went after the bug boys finished and it was quite frankly awesome. The county fairs in NE WY all seem have rodeos at their county fairs. The ranch hand team rodeos are a lot of fun to watch too.
